MiscellaneousInaccessible UK is a website which gives information on accessibility of different services or venues. You can both read and leave reviews here, so go ahead and let people know where's disabled-friendly and where to avoid! RADAR - this is a national disability organisation, which is well known for providing keys to accessible toilets in public places. To apply for a key visit their online shop - you must declare that you are disabled, and pay £3.50 to cover expenses. Support Dogs provide help to disabled people. If you have a dog which is under four years old, you can apply for your own dog to be trained to help you, if not you can apply for a new dog to be assigned to you. Guide dogs for the blind have a website full of information to help visually impaired people decide whether a dog is the right tool for them. Hearing dogs for the deaf provide information to people who are hard of hearing and may benefit from a hearing dog. I don't have much info on housing associations or training providers for disabled people, can you help? |
